Centrestage Magnificent 7 back at The Boardwalk Amphitheatre in March

Centrestage’s most successful, enduring and endearing show ever, the Magnificent 7, returns to The Boardwalk Amphitheatre for four more performances from 24 to 28 March.
The show pays tribute to the seven most popular rock n roll bands of all time – the Beatles, Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Abba and Queen, as the band reinvents itself seven times to recreate the sounds of these legendary groups as accurately as possible.
One of the great trademarks of this remarkable band is the musical versatility of the performers, with instrumentalists swapping instruments and vocal duties throughout.
Special guest artist and musical chameleon Cedric Vandenschrik flies in from Cape Town to front the Queen segment as Freddy Mercury.
Frontman and rocker extraordinaire Wayne Kallis acts as musical director and is joined by Bee Gees sound-alike Andre Strydom on bass, Gino Fabbri reprises his role as Mick Jagger and pounds the drums, with Fenlin Pitie and Debbie Everard and keyboard duties respectively.
Popular guitarist Hugo Kleinhans also weighs in, with Caron Strydom and Tara-Jane Stern making up onstage glamour department.
The Magnificent 7 has performed to over 100 000 people over the past few years, having travelled extensively around the country to unanimous acclaim.
Enjoy the surfing sounds of Surfing USA and California Girls, the Barry Gibb falsetto-lead Night Fever and Staying Alive, the interactive Stones classics Start Me Up and Jumping Jack Flash, Abba’s Super Trouper and Mama Mia and CCR classics such as Midnight Special, Down on the Corner and Up Around the bend, all delivered with that special brand of Centrestage excitement.
Durban based comedian Aaron McIlroy makes several virtual appearances in the hilarious audiovisual linking in the show, along with spectacular tri-screen visual backdrops behind each of the bands.
McIlroy plays a time travelling, shape-shifting scientist from the future who attempts to understand the culture of the time through the lens of rock n roll by reanimating the famous bands of the 60’s and 70’s.
The much anticipated specialist showstopper Bohemian Rhapsody will once again be performed in full vocal orchestration and is a not to be missed highlight of the performance.

Centrestage is offering fundraising organisations the opportunity to raise funds for their charities / causes by selling tickets for the shows on 24 and 25 March.
