Fleetwood Mac are a British blues band formed in 1967, which became a California-based pop group in the mid-seventies, recorded the fourth most popular album of all time with their 1979 classic Rumours and went on to have a string of hits in the 90’s.
Andre Strydom, beloved for his fronting roles in Centrestage tributes to the likes of The Bee Gees and Neil Diamond, is at the helm of this project as no amount of detail has been spared to recreate the beautiful Fleetwood Mac songbook with as much authenticity as possible.

The band once again consists of a group of consummate vocalists and musicians. Andre’s daughter and singing partner Caron plays the role of Christine McVie, whilst Lynne Cosme steps in the shoes of Stevie Nicks and plays keyboards in the band along with maestro “fingers” Fenlin Pitie.

The tribute to Fleetwood Mac continues in the styling of Centrestage’s previous Simon and Garfunkel salute, with the emphasis on subtle instrumentation and textured harmonies. Guitarist Hugo Kleinhans plays Lindsay Buckingham, drummer Devon Van Rooyen is Mick Fleetwood and percussionist John Dickin all join Strydom from the previous S&G show lineup, although on this occasion, Dickin will showcase his guitar picking style on several songs too.

Songs featured in the show are mostly taken from their 1975 self-titled album, their 1987 album Tango in the Night and their live 1997 album The Dance, and of course, their epic 1979 album on which the show title is based.

Rumours was written and recorded as three long-term relationships-between Buckingham and Nicks, the married McVies, and Fleetwood and his wife-publicly unraveled. The album is a virtual document of romantic turmoil, and its timing reflected the interpersonal upheavals of the liberated Seventies. Resonating with a mass audience like no other album in rock history, Rumours yielded a bumper crop of songs with enduring appeal, among them the Top 10 hits “Go Your Own Way,” “Dreams,” “Don’t Stop” and “You Make Loving Fun.”

Songs covered include the likes of Gypsy, You make Lovin Fun, Dreams, Say You Love Me, Tusk, Little Lies, Seven Wonders, Sara, Big Love, Rhiannon, The Chain, Don’t Stop, Go Your Own Way, Second Hand News, Everywhere, Landslide, Gold Dust Woman and Never Going Back, amongst other favourites.
